AirAsia PH eyes more Vietnam routes

Philippines AirAsia Inc. is looking to serve three more destinations in Vietnam — Hanoi, Da Nang and Nha Trang — to meet the growing demand for travel in these areas.

This after it successfully launched its Manila to Ho Chi Minh flights.

Philippines AirAsia CEO Captain Dexter Comendador said this was in line with efforts to serve the rising number of Filipino tourists and workers as well as Russian tourists in Vietnam.

Comendador said the low-cost carrier was eyeing Da Nang and Nha Trang for its possible flight to Vladivostok, the nearest major Russian city to Asia.

In 2016, the Civil Aeronautical Board designated AirAsia Inc. as official Philippine carrier to Russia, under the air service agreement between Manila and Moscow.

Commendador also said AirAeia plans to fly to Bali and Jakarta by January next year..

Philippines AirAsia operates a fleet of 17 aircraft with domestic and international flights out of hubs in Manila, Cebu, and Kalibo.
