Sofia Elizalde shares throwback photos of herself in Nutcracker
Once upon a time, little Sofia was CCP Dance Company’s Clara of Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker.”
The daughter of Don Jaime and Bea Zobel de Ayala shared her precious memories on Ig to promote Ballet Philippines’ production of this ballet favorite. The lovely album includes a photo of the younger version of the Ballet Philippines founder leading her corps de ballet, Don Jaime standing in front of young Sofia/Clara and perhaps wishing her a good performance, and the playbill featuring young Sofia as sweet Clara.
“#TBT to the 70s when Ballet Philippines was still called The CCP Dance Company! Nutcracker was staged by guest artist Armin Wild under Alice Reyes’s direction. Was thrilled to have had the chance to dance every little girl’s dream role of Clara. It was through this ballet that I discovered my true love for this art form and I knew it was going to be a part of my life forever. This year, as Ballet Philippines nears its 50th birthday, the company will be restaging Edna Vida’s Nutcracker once again! Please go and watch! Still a full length favorite that truly brings out the Christmas spirit in all of us! 🎄Thank you @balletphilippines for all the wonderful years and unforgettable memories. ♥️✨” @steps.ph said.
You will always be our lovely Clara, ma’am Sofia! #
