Good news! Government employees to get fatter paychecks in 2018

New year, bigger paycheck!

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) expects to spend an additional P24 billion in 2018 for the third wave of salary increases for government employees, as captured under Executive Order 201 signed by former President Noynoy Aquino in 2016.

The third tranche of pay hikes will kick in by January 2018, covering employees from all branches of government, Constitutional Commissions, and state universities and colleges, the DBM said in a statement.

Civil servants will enjoy a double jackpot next year as the government is also set to reduce income taxes under the tax reform program.

They’re in for a huge treat!
