Ka-ching! GSIS retirees to get up to P12,600 Christmas gift

It’s time to be merry!

The state-run Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) will start releasing Christmas cash gifts to old-age and disability pensioners starting Friday, Dec. 1 as an early start to the holidays.

In a statement, the state pension fund said over P2.7 billion will be disbursed this December. Pensioners who got over P10,000 in December 2016 will be entitled to as much as P12,600 for this year’s extra benefit.

Those who received a lower amount last year will get an amount equal to one month’s pension, up to a maximum of P10,000.

Relatively new pensioners will not be receiving the extra cash just yet, as they will be entitled to the benefit five years after their monthly pension kicks in.
