Companies more optimistic ahead of Christmas — BSP

Businesses in the Philippines grew more upbeat about domestic prospects as the holidays draw near.

Results of the latest Business Expectations Survey of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) showed more companies growing optimistic during the fourth quarter, with a score of 43.3% from 37.9%.

Businessmen see increased sales and production during the last three months of 2017 due to the spending surge for the Christmas season, together with increased export demand for Philippine products.

In fact, 50% of export-oriented companies said they see greater business activity over the holidays, with stronger demand for their products expected to persist.
