Sales of ABS-CBN TVplus boxes reach 4M as of November

ABS-CBN Corp. has already sold four million units of digital terrestrial television (DTT) boxes as of November, exceeding its sales goal for the year.

“Just this week, we actually hit four million already. So, we were able to meet our target a little earlier than Christmas,” said ABS-CBN’s DTT head Chinky Alcedo.

Alcedo said the DTT boxes are now available in more areas in Visayas and Mindanao — loilo, Cebu, Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro and Davao.

Alcedo said the company plans to offer TVPlus with built in Wifi before the end of the year.

“We think there is an opportunity to be of better service in those areas before we actually get into the more served areas already. It’s really from that standpoint. We are always here to provide service and to try and fill in the gaps especially for that kind of market,” Alcedo said.
