Final call: EastWest to cancel all non-EMV cards by Dec. 4
This is the last chance for all buzzer beaters.
EastWest Bank has reminded its clients to hand in their magnetic stripe cards on or before 11:59 p.m. of Monday, Dec. 4. The bank said all magstripe cards will be deactivated just before the clock strikes midnight, in keeping with a self-imposed deadline to shift to the EMV standard.
Upon deactivation, customers can no longer use these cards at automated teller machines (ATMs), point-of-sale (POS) terminals, and online merchants, the bank said.
