MVP promises iPhone X, HK vacay to champion Blue Eagles
Bilyonaryo Manny V. Pangilinan was right on the money when he called Game 3 of UAAP 80 Finals Game 3 as the Battle of Normandy for his beloved Blue Eagles.
The blue shirts came in droves and pushed the attendance at the historic Araneta museum to a staggering crowd of 22,000 (of course with the help of the De La Salle faithful).
After the Ateneo thumped DLSU, 88-86, Pangilinan declared on Twitter that the latest battle of the biggest rivalry in Philippine sports would be remembered in history as where the core of the future Philippine national team would be formed:
Yet again, a series that will be memorialized in Ph basketball history. Excellent players from both sides – they are our basketball future. Best of them would form the core of our Gilas 2023 team. Congrats Ateneo. Well done La Salle. #OneBigFight #AnimoLaSalle.

Pangilinan, who watched the game with former Blue Eagle coach Norman Black at his side, joined Ateneo mob in feting the newly crowned champions at the Katipunan campus:
Pangilinan: “After five years of drought, the championship has finally returned… and let’s make sure it stays here!”
