Del Rosario family acquires St. Jude College

 

The Phinma Group is beefing up its education portfolio with the purchase of Manila-based nursing school St. Jude College.

In a regulatory filing, Phinma said it sealed an agreement to acquire 57,347 shares, representing 95.6 percent of St. Jude College, for P370.2 million.

Located in Sampaloc, Manila, St Jude College started as a school of nursing in 1968 and has expanded to become a full service educational institution serving 3,050 students in basic education, college, and graduate school programs.

Known mainly for tertiary allied health science courses, it also offers programs in business, education, information technology, and hospitality.

St Jude will be the with school under Phinma’s growing education facility network which includes Pamantasan ng Araullo (Araullo University), Cagayan de Oro College, University of Pangasinan, University of Iloiilo, and Cebu’s Southwestern University,

Apart from education, the group also has interests in energy, housing, and hotels.
