PAL to add Boeing 777s to its fleet
Philippine Airlines expects the delivery of two Boeing 777-300 ER on Dec. 16 and 19 for its long-haul destinations.
The spacious and luxurious 777 – fitted with state-of-the-art inflight entertainment system – is expected to delight passengers.
The new aircraft will allow the flag carrier to add non-stop frequencies between Manila and the US West Coast and open a non-stop Manila – New York service.
PAL earlier incurred a net loss of P3.5 billion in the nine months to September, a reversal of the P2.96 billion profit reported in the same period last year.
Revenues rose 15.6 percent to P98.63 billion. Passenger revenues amounted to P81.96 billion while cargo revenues went up to P6.09 billion from P4.94 billion.
Total expenses increased 27.3 percent to P103.82 billion primarily due to increase in flight frequencies and the introduction of new routes.
