Cebu Pacific retains domestic leadership


Gokongwei-led Cebu Pacific retained its position as the country’s largest airline in the domestic market, according to the Civil Aeronautics Board.

Data from CAB showed that the Gokongwei-led airline carried a total 91.37 million domestic passengers in the first nine months while PAL Express transported 63.47 million passengers and Philippine Airlines flew 27.60 million passengers.

Philippines Air Asia carried 14.37 million domestic passengers while Cebgo flew 2.97 million domestic passengers and Magnun Air ( 841,040 domestic passengers).

Meanwhile, AirSwift Transport Inc. and AirJuan Aviation Inc. had flown 335,517 domestic passengers and 139,260 domestic passengers, respectively.

In terms of international passengers, Philippine Airlines carried the most number of passengers with 5.15 million, accounting for 53.2 percent of the total 9.67 million international passengers. It was followed by Cebu Pacific with 3.53 million passengers and Philippines Air Asia with 984,954 international passengers.
