Smart, Globe told to provide uninterrupted service this Christmas


The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) has directed telecommunication companies to ensure good quality of communications services during the holidays.

In a memorandum circular, the NTC said telcos should undertake a necessary network adjustments and maintenance to ensure that their networks are ready to accommodate the expected surge of texts and voice calls during this festive season.

Sufficient operation and maintenance personnel should be deployed to ensure 99.999 network availability and reliability, NTC said.

Yolanda Crisanto, senior vice president for Corporate Communications at Globe, said its network is prepared to meet the anticipated increase in holiday traffic.

“As telco is 24/7 business there will be ample operational support for our customers facing and backend network systems to fully service customers especially during the holidays,” Crisanto said.
