BDO hires seasoned banker

The Sy family-led BDO Unibank Inc. announced the appointment of Roberto Ramon Santos as senior vice president of its Transaction Banking Group effective Feb. 1, 2018 subject to the approval of the central bank.

The new executive draws decades of experience from multinational banks.

BDO’s TBG is headed by EVP Edwin Romualdo G. Reyes.

In a disclosure, the bank owned by bilyonaryo Henry Sy described Santos as a banking veteran, clocking in 25 years in the industry. He held top positions at Credit Suisse units in New York and London, as well as in Deutsche Bank Manila as head of technology until mid-2017.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from St. Peter’s College in New Jersey. BDO will be seeing corporate clients with fresh eyes this year.
