Keep it clean: Globe blocks 2,500 child porn sites

Taking a stronger stance against child pornography, Globe Telecom Inc. has blocked access to websites that show offensive content.

“As a purpose-led organization, we have a responsibility to ensure that our products and services will not be used for illegal activities. Globe Telecom is strongly committed to help address child pornography in the country,” said Globe SVP for Corporate Communications Yoly Crisanto.

Crisanto said Globe would continue to aggressively look out for illegal sites with lewd content involving children.

Having partnered with global and local content creators and distributors for its content business, Globe has also taken an active role in promoting legitimate sources of online content.

Last year, the company launched the #PlayItRight advocacy to help the entertainment industry curb piracy and protect intellectual property rights.
