BDO depositors share tales of suspicious withdrawals on Facebook

More Filipinos are venting their frustration online after the bank acknowledged an increase in fraud reports.

Several depositors of BDO Unibank took to social media their stories of how they lost their money to fraudsters by way of unauthorized withdrawals and purchases which were charged to their accounts.

Horror stories poured online, with the worst cases seeing 80 percent of their balances suddenly wiped out.

The bank owned by bilyonaryo Henry Sy released a statement announcing an internal investigation to the increased number of fraudulent transactions being reported to them, saying that the entire industry has seen a spike in such cases over the holidays.
