Tax reform law seen to have minimal impact on MVP Group


The MVP Group of Companies said the newly-passed Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law would have no significant impact on their operations.

“All the companies will be affected in some shape or form but I don’t think the effect would be significant,” said Manuel V. Pangilinan, chairman of the MVP Group.

Power utility giant Manila Electric Co., for one, said it may increase electricity bills due to the implementation of TRAIN .

Aside from power, the MVP Group is engaged in telecommunications, mining, tollways, water, healthcare, and railways businesses.
