RCBC ventures into digital payments with eCurrency tie-up
This bank is gearing up for the digital race.
The Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) unveiled its newly-sealed partnership with eCurrency Mint Limited, a global firm dedicated to electronic money.
The Yuchengco-owned bank said it has tapped eCurrency to create a digital money product for RCBC, which is targeted to “deliver accessible and affordable digital financial services in the country.”
The lender is stepping up its digital presence as other banks are being more aggressive in the online banking space.
“The Bank is on track and ready to take advantage of the opportunities expected from the favorable business environment in 2018… Competition, however, will continue to be strong,” RCBC President and CEO Gil Buenaventura said in the bank’s income statement.
“The RCBC management understands this all too well and is prepared to address this with a strong sense of urgency, as we pursue our business plans, key initiatives and key transactions this year.”
