SM matriarch Felicidad Sy and daughter Tessie share sunshine with the elderly
The Sunshine Place has always been a place where those at the sunset phase of their lives find renewed faith, joy and hope.
The wife of SM founder Henry Sy Sr. and her daughter SM Investments Corporation vice chair Tessie Sy-Coson shared the book “Finding The Sun” edited by The Sunshine Place member, columnist Barbara Gonzalez-Ventura. Stories of several notable seniors like Vicky Fernandez-Zubiri, and Conchitina Sevilla-Bernardo were chronicled on how they struggled and bloomed during “war-torn childhood years, career peaks, happy marriages and lost loves, health struggles and depressions, and renewed faith.
“I can say that Sunshine Place was a wonderful and successful idea for more and more people to find happiness later in life,” the Sy matriarch said.
