Back to work: ERC gets CA to stop suspension of commissioners
They are back to report for duty.
Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) Chair Agnes Devanadera said that they have secured relief from the Court of Appeals that stopped a one-year suspension order for all four commissioners, as issued by the Office of the Ombudsman.
The court issued a preliminary injunction on Friday, April 13 which stopped the suspension of commissioners Alfredo Non, Gloria Victoria Yap-Taruc, Josefina Patricia Magpale-Asirit, and Geronimo Sta Ana.
The Ombudsman ordered the suspension of the ERC officials in December over administrative charges as they supposedly decided in favor of the Manila Electric Co.
Devanadera previously said that the ERC is effectively paralyzed with all four commissioners out of office.
