Globe makes room for egames, partners with Garena, Riot Games, Mineski
Globe Telecom Inc. has forged partnerships with international gaming entities to provide fully optimozed internet connectivity..
“Together with our partners, we want to accelerate the gaming industry in the country by bringing gaming and esports into homes, mobile devices, malls and . venues,” said Globe president Ernest Cu.
As part of a multi-year exclusive partnership, Globe and Minesky will collaborate on the formation and training of a forthcoming esports team that will compete in regional and global events.
Globe also inked a first-of-its kind partnership with Garena, a leading Southeast Asian game publisher. This exclusive partnership includes marketing, competitions and content production for the leading mobile game, Arena of Valor (AoV).
The deal with Garena also covers the Riot Games owned title, League of Legends, the world’s most played PC game with over 100 million active monthly users worldwide.
Cu said Globe expects to gain additional revenues from these partnerships.
“I think, [revenue] will follow. [We’re] building the base, the interest, I think the funds will come. If you got a great event going, then ticket sales will come, sponsorships will come,” he added.
