Dominguez looks up to this ex-Finance chief the most
This agency is in tip-top shape thanks to his predecessors.
Secretary Carlos Dominguez III greeted the Department of Finance for their 121st anniversary on Tuesday, April 24. The Cabinet official extended courtesy invitations to former Finance officials to grace the event.
Dominguez acknowledged the good work they have done to keep the Philippines’ fiscal balance, but one particularly stood out from the pack.
“For all the gains we have made, I should thank my predecessors for the excellent job they did in maintaining fiscal discipline. I should, in
particular, thank former Prime Minister Cesar Virata for setting the tone and leadership style for this Department,” Dominguez said in his speech during a celebratory lunch held at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.
“We are building on the strong foundations they have set down.”
The legacy lives on!
