Dominguez explains need for New Clark City

Development is lacking up north.

Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III made the case for the redevelopment of the Clark Freeport Zone into the New Clark City, saying that it is eyed to be the newest commercial hub of the country.

“In the case of New Clark City, Dominguez said there is already a demand for this type of project, as development needs to spread towards north of Metro Manila to decongest the national capital region’s overly populated urban hub where the daily road traffic volume has led to massive productivity and revenue losses,” the Department of Finance said in a statement.

Dominguez added that developing North Luzon is “long overdue,” as it is the best chance in declogging the overpopulated Metro Manila.
