Duterte’s economic team flies to Tokyo for infra funding

 

This is no junket according to the Department of Finance.

Cabinet officials led by Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III are flying to Tokyo from June 18-21 to woo Japanese investors anew.

In a statement, economic managers of President Rodrigo Duterte will stage a Philippine economic briefing for investors, to be followed by a high-level committee meeting on “infrastructure and economic cooperation.”

Apart from Dominguez, officials headed abroad are Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, Secretaries Ernesto Pernia of the National Economic and Development Authority, Benjamin Diokno of the Department of Budget and Management, Arthur Tugade of the Department of Transportation, and Mark Villar of the Department of Public Works and Highways.

Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Nestor Espenilla Jr. and Bases Conversion and Development Authority president Vivencio Dizon will also be joining the tour.
