PH to borrow over P1T in 2019
Build, Build, Build also means borrow, borrow, borrow.
The Philippines is eyeing to borrow some P1.19 trillion in 2019 to support ambitious spending targets, National Treasurer Rosalia de Leon said.
Business World newspaper said this is 33 percent higher than the P888 billion in this year’s borrowing plan.
One-fourth of the amount will be borrowed from the foreign market, while 75 percent will be sourced locally.
Among the new options being explored are euro and sukuk bonds, plus dollar-denominated papers and panda bonds from Chinese investors.
