China-funded bridges to break ground this July

The wait is over.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced that the two China-funded bridges in Metro Manila will soon be a reality.

In a statement, the DPWH said work on the Estrella-Pantaleon Bridge connecting Makati and Mandaluyong and the Binondo-Intramuros Bridge across Pasig River will start mid-July.

“The implementation of these bridges is scheduled to begin next week and will be accessible to the public by 2020,” Villar said.

These two projects are the first on the list of official development assistance from Beijing under the “Build, Build, Build” program of the Duterte administration.
