DPWH expects partial completion of Cavite-Laguna expressway by yearend
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) expects to complete the construction of the Laguna side of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway project by December this year.
Estimated to cost P10 billion, the Laguna segment will run from Laguna Boulevard to Mamplasan, Binan, cutting travel time to under 10 minutes. About 7,300 vehicles ply this route.
Construction of the Cavite side of the project should start by the third quarter as the agency already secured an environmental compliance certificate.
The project, which is being undertaken by MPCala HOldings, involves the financing, construction and operation of a four-lane, 47-kilometer closed-system toll expressway connecting Cavitex (Manila–Cavite Expressway) and South Luzon Expressway.
The expressway will start from Cavitex in Kawit, Cavite and end at the SLEx-Mamplasan Interchange in Biñan, Laguna. The project is slated for completion by 2020.
