BSP reminds public on P50K cash limit for foreign travel
Anything beyond that amount needs central bank approval.
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) issued a new public advisory targeted to travelers going in and out of the country.
The BSP reiterated that any person, including foreigners, can only bring in or take out up to P50,000 cash.
“In excess of this amount, prior BSP written authorization should be secured,” the central bank said.
Exceptions are given for those who need money to testing or calibrate money counting machines, as well as currency collectors for numismatics or educational purposes.
