Globe scales up capex to $950M
Ayala-led Globe Telecom is ramping up its capital spending this year by $100 million as it continues to upgrade both its mobile and broadband networks and expand its footprint nationwide.
This effectively raises its capital expenditure budget to $950 million. The telco aims to provide first-world internet connectivity in the country.
As of the end of June, Globe already spent P22.9 billion to better serve its growing subscriber base and meet the rapidly changing and rising demand for data. Of that amount, 77 percent was spent on data.
Globe currently has a total of 39,614 base stations. .. It continues to invest in its 4G and LTE networks.
