Wick Veloso steps down as HSBC CEO
The word on the street is he’s going to lead a different bank.
Jose Arnulfo “Wick” Veloso, the first-ever Filipino to be named chief executive officer for the Philippine unit of the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC), announced on Monday, Aug. 20 his resignation from the post.

But a noteworthy coincidence is that there are rumors that Philippine National Bank (PNB) president Reynaldo Maclang is also on his way out.
PNB, however, issued a clarification that they have not approved Maclang’s retirement at the board level.
