Trouble in paradise: Alorica call center workers to stage strike

They’re not taking this sitting down on their desks.

Employees of business process outsourcing firm Alorica said they will stage a strike, marking a first for the call center industry.

The Unified Employees of Alorica (UEA) said trouble is brewing in Alorica West, having filed a notice of strike last Friday Sept 7. This came after a series of mediation proceedings failed amid “union harassment and union busting” measures taken by their employer.
