Deadline to submit bids for Clark airport O&M moved to mid-October
The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has extended the bid submission for the 25-year operation and maintenance contract for the Clark International Airport in Pampanga to the middle of October.
Clark International Airport’s new terminal building is envisioned to accommodate an additional eight million passengers per year when it opens in July 2020 and hjelp decongest the busy overused Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Metro Manila. It currently has an annual capacity of four million passengers.
The O&M contract is worth around P5.6 billion.
Among those that bought bid documents were Megawide Corp., Metro Pacific Investment Corp., Filinvest Development Corp., San Miguel Holdings Corp., Prime Assets Venture, Central Luzon Infrastructure Consultancy Inc. Consortium, GVK Airport Developers Ltd., AirAsia and Groupe ADP.
The Megawide-GMR consortium earlier won the bidding for the construction of a new passenger terminal in Clark Airport, when it submitted the lowest financial proposal of P9.36 billion on Dec. 14, 2017.
Airlines operating in Clark include Qatar Airways, Cebu Pacific, Tigerair, Jin Air, Asiana Airlines, Dragon Air, AirAsia Berhad, Philippine Airlines and Emirates Airlines. They fly to Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, Macau, Pudong, Incheon, Doha, Dubai, Davao, Cebu, and Kalibo.
