ABS-CBN online store hit by data breach

Lopez-led ABS-CBN Corp. said its online shopping platforms have been hacked that compromised customer data.

In a statement, ABS-CBN said it temporarily shut down ABS-CBN Store (store.abs-cbn.com) and the UAAP Store (uaapstore.com) websites at 9:30 AM following a report of a data breach.

ABS-CBN said personal information and credit card details of our customers may have been exposed.

“As of this time, there are 213 customers who may have been affected. However, the investigation is still ongoing,” ABS-CBN said.

“The company already informed the National Privacy Commission and will be working closely with them.

We have started reaching out to all our affected customers. We also advise our customers not to give out additional personal and financial information to anyone who may be claiming to be an ABS-CBN representative,” the media behemoth noted.
