All is well again with Sun Life, Manila House
The salmon meltdown is water under the bridge.
Hours after a video of former Manila House president Ricco Ocampo surfaced online, the posh members-only club spoke up to clarify the issue involving employees and officials of Sun Life Financial.
The two even issued a joint statement on the matter, in a bid to calm public outrage and for damage control.
“It has come to our attention that a video of an incident involving Sun Life and Manila House has been circulating online. We would like to inform the public that the situation has already been amicably settled,” Manila House and Sun Life said.
Ocampo, who has since been replaced from his post, was taped shouting at a Sun Life employee who was refusing to settle their bill due to a smaller-than-expected serving of salmon for dinner, versus the bigger chunk presented during food tasting.
Reports say the settlement was in the area of P5 million.
“We request that the public refrain from spreading the video, along with inaccurate details or comments, to avoid misinformation,” the two firms added.
