Espenilla gets B+ on first year as BSP chief
It’s a pretty solid run for his first year in office.
Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Nestor Espenilla, Jr. is off to a good start in his six-year term as head of the central bank.
The New York-based Global Finance gave Espenilla a B+ grade for his first year in office, coming from an A-F scale used among officials worldwide.
Growth, employment and wages are looking well, although the magazine flagged the weakening peso and a wider trade deficit as areas of concern.
