Ports and gaming tycoon Enrique Razon Jr. is reconsidering plans to expand its integrated resort and gaming business in Japan after the latter took a bold move toward legalizing casino gambling.
Japan’s lower house passed last week a long-awaited bill to legalize casinos, which backers say could bring billions of dollars worth of investments and double tourism of the world’s third largest economy.
Bloomberry operates Solaire Resort & Casino in Pagcor Entertainment City in the Philippines.
?Once law is passed [in Japan], that would be a very interesting market. But we don?t know yet the final form and terms,? Razon told reporters.
Razon owns Bloomberry Resorts Corp., the operator of Solaire Resort & Casino.
