This global hotel chain has found the Presidential hometown as a new tourism hotspot.
Swiss-Belhotel International has bared plans to expand their operations in Asia by foraying into Southern Philippines.
Instead of building a new high-rise in congested Manila, the firm went to Mindanao and chose Davao City for a major project in the country.
The firm will put up an upscale resort in the Island Garden City of Samal, together with Luxury Lifestyle Leisure and Resorts Corporation.
Swiss-Belresort and Villas Samal will operate 180 rooms, which is eyed to open within the last quarter of 2021.
“With both domestic and international tourism increasing to the Philippines, Samal Island is expected to be a major new destination for visitors in the years to come with the 20-hectare resort complex boasting high-end villas, world-class accommodation and superior facilities,” the global hospitality management chain said.
Swiss-Belhotel manages a property in Makati City.
