This November has a lot in store for the Marcoses.
The Sandiganbayan Fifth Division surprised many after handing down a maximum 77-year sentence on Former First Lady now Ilocos Norte Rep. Imelda Marcos, whom they found guilty for seven counts of graft.
In a decision, the court found that Marcos misused her Cabinet position during her husband dictator Ferdinand Marcos’ reign as president by channeling public funds to private organizations she created in Switzerland, worth around $200 million.
Now, the Sandiganbayan Fourth Division is also set to decide on a separate civil case against Marcos, this time over P200 billion worth of ill-gotten wealth which they supposedly stole from public coffers.
Correction: the amount of ill-gotten wealth of the Marcoses subject of the civil case pending at the Sandiganbayan 4th Division is P200 billion, not P250 million which is the amount of damages sought for the recovery the ill-gotten wealth. | via @adrianayalin pic.twitter.com/9zA1hDIRFW

On top of this, Ombudsman lawyers are asking for P250 million as damages sought for the recovery of stolen assets, if proven so.
