A unit of DoubleDragon Properties Corp. has partnered with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines, one of the world’s largest conservation organizations, to promote renewable energy amid climate change and dwindling fossil fuel supply.

CityMall Commercial Centers Inc. inked a memorandum of agreement with the WWF to help boost projects that promote and demonstrate renewable energy use, low carbon development in cities, and sustainable consumption and production.

The partnership will promote solar power and renewable energy at all 100 CityMalls nationwide.

“DoubleDragon’s CityMalls are designed and built with above par quality that integrates green technology in line with our efforts of promoting sustainable development. The CityMalls are designed to endure the test of time and remain relevant for generations to come,” said Edgar “Injap”Sia II, chairman of DoubleDragon.

At the forefront of creating sustainable retail environments in the province, the CityMalls use solar power, LED lights, modern waste treatment facilities, rainwater harvesting systems and, most recently, green fans to further enhance cooling efficiency.

“The DoubleDragon team is committed in our long-term investment in green technology. We envisage our projects to be the template for other sustainable buildings that endeavor to achieve both efficiency while optimizing returns at the same time,” said DoubleDragon chief investment officer Hannah Yulo.
