Broadcasting firm GMA Network Inc. is looking for opportunities to diversify to increase revenue streams.
“We are studying it, hindi ko pa masabi,” said Felipe Gozon, chairman and CEO of GMA.
Its perrenial rival ABS-CBN Corp. is venturing into cosmetics, food and electronic money businesses to to boost its cashflow.
Meanwhile, the network is set to launch MyGMA GO, its mobile digital terrestrial television (DTT) service.
GMA’s affordable and compact end-user device can act as a digital TV receiver when connected to an Android smartphone.
Complimentary to this device is a mobile application that can be downloaded from the Google Play Store where users can watch GMA’s exclusive channels that will include an Asian telenovela channel, Korean music and variety channel, and a concert channel, and other free-to-air channels without a need for an active Internet connection.
