This agency is finally catching up with the digital era.
The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has entered into a partnership with Union Bank of the Philippines that will allow taxpayers to settle transactions online.
In a notice issued Wesnesday, BIR said taxpayers could now pay their taxes through UnionBank’s web and mobile app platforms
“This additional electronic payment facility provides another convenient way for taxpayers to pay taxes and improve tax compliance and client satisfaction,” BIR said.
A taxpayer must first file their returns electronically using a eBIR Form, before they can access the ePayment facility online.
After that, payment can be done via the Aboitiz-owned bank’s “Pay Bills” service.
