Third telco player Mindanao Islamic Telephone Co. (Mislatel) may start commercial operations by the end of the year.
This was revealed by acting Department of Information and Communications Technology Secretary Eliseo Rio, Jr.
In an interview with CNN Philippines, Rio said Mislatel was likely to obtain its certificate of public convenience and necessity by the “first week of July.”
Businessman Dennis Uy-led Mislatel has already started building its towers and fiber optic networks.
“Siguro before the end of the year, makakakuha na sila ng subscribers nila,” Rio added.

That’s a year ahead of Mislatel’s 2020 rollout commiment.
