Hopefully the work of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will not be considered as redundant anymore.
No less than ADB president Takehiko Nakao announced Monday that they would be working closely with the World Bank.
This followed Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III’s call for greater collaboration between the two lenders.
“ADB is responding to Philippine Finance Secretary Carlos G. Dominguez III’s call for us to become more efficient, responsive, and better coordinated with the World Bank and other multilateral development banks to meet the changing needs of our client countries,” Nakao said in a statement.
The ADB is already working with the World Bank for two projects: the conditional cash transfer program for the poor, and the rehabilitation and recovery efforts in Marawi.
