The millennial mayor has sided with employees of beverage chain Zagu who are protesting unfair labor practices.

Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto made fresh waves after he visited the Zagu picket line, where he went to listen to the complaints of the employees of the popular shake stand. Zagu’s head office is in Barangay Kapitolyo in Sotto’s turf.

Sotto tried to negotiate and school the company management by defending the workers’ right to organize as a union and stage a protest. He told Zagu officials not to resort to violence against their employees.

Sotto tried to reason out that the picket protest can continue as it does not violate rules issued by the National Labor Relations Commission. Unsatisfied, he exposed Zagu for its cruelties for all of Facebook to see.

Zagu workers on strike against illegal contractualization

This only made Sotto more endearing and respected among netizens. Sana all!
