A new elevated expressway that will link the northern and southern parts of the metro is targeted for construction in the third quarter.
This was disclosed by Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. president Rodrigo Franco.
The P23.3 billion NLEx-SLEx connector road is an eight-kilometer all elevated four-lane toll expressway extending the NLEX southward from the end of Segment 10 in C3 Road Caloocan City to PUP Sta. Mesa, Manila. It connects to the Skyway Stage 3.
Slated for completion in 2021, the project includes two interchanges located at C3 Road/5th Avenue, Caloocan and España, Manila.
The project will reduce travel time from SLEX to NLEX from two hours to just 20 minutes. It is expected to benefit at least 35,000 motors per day.
