Filipinos can soon apply for or renew their passports at City Mall branches nationwide following a deal signed by DoubleDragon Properties Corp. and the Department of Finance.
“We are glad to be working with important government agencies, like the Department of Foreign Affairs among others, to make the lives of Filipinos better by helping them in cascading their services with efficiency and convenience,”said DoubleDragon chairman Edgar “Injap” Sia II.
Sia said these initiatives are aligned with the government’s thrust to make the Philippine economy more inclusive and help improve the lives o Filipinos, e especially in the far away provincial area.
“Quarter per quarter, the roots of the chain of CityMalls continue to strengthen its grip in each and every provincial community in the Philippines…The CityMall platform is set to capture the inevitable ongoing shift from traditional to modern retail in the countryside. And we are excited for that shift to go full circle soon, as it will make the then fully-entrenched CityMalls become an irreplaceable and relevant retail platform,” Sia said.
DoubleDragon aims to achieve a leasable portfolio of 1.2 million square meters by 2020 comprising of 700,000 sqm from 100 CityMalls, 300,000 sqm from its Metro Manila office projects DD Meridian Park and Jollibee Tower, 100,000 sqm from the pipeline 5,000 hotel rooms of Hotel101 and Jinjiang Inn Philippines, and another 100,000 sqm of industrial warehouse space from various CentralHub sites across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
