George Ty receives posthumous award
Memories of the late philanthropist bilyonaryo came to life in the Senate as he was given a posthumous award for his contributions to the country.
George Ty may have amassed billions of wealth on earth, but his greatest legacy remains to be his charity work.
Senate adopted a resolution drafted by Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon to honor Ty for helping improve the lives of many Filipinos
“The hard work of the late Dr. Ty, a visionary business leader and an icon of philanthropy, turned the Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. into a vital economic backbone of the country,” Drilon said.
Drilon said Ty’s greatest achievement was his “innate kindness, compassion, benevolence, and respect for people’s abilities and potential to succeed.”
