SGV clears Celina Yanson over alleged missing P380M funds
Top accounting firm SGV has cleared Celina Yanson-Lopez, one of the heirs of the Yanson Group of Bus Companies, over the alleged missing P380 million funds from its coffers.
“Without disclosing the contents of its report, SGV can confirm that the report did not refer to Ms. Yanson-Lopez as the person directly liable for the loss of the funds,” SGV said in its clarification made through legal counsel Poblador, Bautista and Reyes Law Office.
The clarification comes after the camp of ousted Vallacar Transit president Leo Rey Yanson and their mother Olivia accused Celina of taking money from the company.
This has triggered the family feud and led to the Yanson 4, which includes incumbent president Roy, Ricky and Emily, siding with Celina.
The family tapped SGV for an independent probe as Celina herself wanted to investigate the reported anomalous transactions made through VTI’s Manila Purchasing Office in 2018.
The cashier of the unit illegally encashed checks amounting to P380 million using using forged signatures.
