Loren Legarda congratulates the Philippine Pavilion for Biennale Arte 2019 inclusion
Antique Rep. Loren Legarda is a true patroness of the arts.
She has been a staunch supporter of the Philippine delegation to the yearly Venice Biennale, and has not failed to secure representation since 2015.
This year, the Philippine Pavilion was once again featured in the 58th International Art Exhibition: Biennale Arte 2019.
She described the Philippine gallery curated by Tessa Maria Guazon which features artist Mark Justiniani. “Titled ‘Island Weather’, it is an immersive space that stimulates a voyage to provoke deeper conversations about ways of seeing and the manner of perception, the nature of space, and the constructs of time,” she wrote.
She then thanked the National Commission for Culture and the Arts for always seeing value in her vision. Special mention also to Senators Joel Villanueva and Sonny Angara who reached out for support.

Once again proud of our Philippine Pavilion in Arsenale in Venice, featured at the 58th International Art Exhibition: Biennale Arte 2019. It is curated by Tessa Maria Guazon, featuring artist Mark Justiniani. Titled ‘Island Weather’, it is an immersive space that stimulates a voyage to provoke deeper conversations about ways of seeing and the manner of perception, the nature of space, and the constructs of time. My vision and perseverance all these years with the able support of the @nccaofficial have brought the Philippines to the Venice Biennale. Our country was able to return in 2015, after a 51-year hiatus, and has continued to participate since then. We bring our pavilion home afterwards for all Filipinos to appreciate. Thank you, Sen @joelvillanueva for coming all the way from Milan and sharing in our joy. Thank you, Sen @sonnyangara for your visit earlier. Your support is much appreciated. 😊❤️ @philartvenice @allena.com.ph @silnaghorn
