Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III wants nobody else but this man to head the Asian Development Bank (ADB) when incumbent president Takehiko Nakao steps down early next year.

Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III wants nobody else but this man to head the Asian Development Bank (ADB) when incumbent president Takehiko Nakao steps down early next year.

Based in Manila, the ADB is led by Japanese officials.

Dominguez renewed his call after they met in Washington, D.C. for the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund.

“The Philippines’ relationship with the Japanese government and the ADB has been the best it has ever been and I am confident that our cooperation will further improve under Mr. Asakawa’s leadership in the ADB,” Dominguez said.

Will he get his way again like he did with David Malpass of the World Bank?
