Nowhere to go: Ecoland unit owners seek help following DMCI condo collapse

Some unit owners of Ecoland 4000 are forced to live on the streets or in temporary accommodation after a devastating earthquake pounded the city of Davao.

ABS-CBN News reported the dire living conditions of unit owners were forced out of their homes after a series of earthquakes caused severe damage to the building.

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte condemned the towers and ordered the evacuation of the building’s residents.

One resident had to ask help from friends as the developer, DMC Urban Property Developers Inc., seemed to have abandoned them.

“Ang aming property management officer, wala talagang information so parang hanging talaga kami. Kawawa talaga kami. Wala kaming baon na gamit at saka nadi-displace kami. Kung saan-saan kami nakitira sa mga kaibigan,” Rebecca De Leon was quoted in the interview.

She tried to resolve things diplomatically through a letter, but was only told by condo management that they are still negotiating with city officials to allow people to go back to the condo.
